This June will see the first in a new series of events designed to bring together all kinds of knowledge and skills useful for Ramblers members and volunteers. The first Ramblers Regional Volunteer Workshop event will take place in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire on 1 June 2013, and is designed for members across this region.
The free training event is aimed at Ramblers volunteers and members interested in volunteering, and will feature workshops, talks and walks, as well as the chance to share ideas and best practice across a number of different volunteering activities.
Sessions available on the day will cover promoting your local group, walks and campaigns in the media and the chance to learn the skills to develop great walking routes and plan and lead walks. Members can widen their walking knowledge with an introduction to rights of way and access law, or find out about ways to help deliver our mission in a session led by Ramblers Chair Jonathan Kipling and CEO Benedict Southworth.
This series of workshops is a pilot event and the intention is that it will be rolled out in around 10 other locations throughout the country in 2013/14. Places for sessions at the workshop are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis so to book your place, or for further details, visit www.ramblersregionalworkshop.eventbrite.co.uk.
